BRAINnet Guidelines for Collaborators, Postgraduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellows

The BRAINnet encourages research collaboration with both scientific and industry organizations. We believe that targeted collaborations have the potential to facilitate research outcomes of the highest international quality. Currently, BRAINnet has collaborations with both Australian and international research groups, which includes the Universities of Adelaide, Melbourne (Brain Sciences Institute), Auckland (Liggins Institute), London (Institute of Psychiatry), Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, California (LONI) and Moscow. The BRAINnet focuses on collaborations in which there is an exchange of complementary expertise. As a BRAINnet collaborator, the researcher and institution may benefit from:

  • A significant academic input from the BRAINnet researchers involved and/or current collaborators and affiliates
  • Access to relevant BRAINnet datasets and analysis software
  • Collaborative research outcomes (including authorship on peer-reviewed scientific publications and joint applications for competitive research funding)
  • Scientific exchange visits

Scientific Collaborations

BRAINnet has 2 types of research collaborator:

  1. Collaborators on specific projects – including visiting scientists
  2. Researchers that are members of affiliated centres
