Date: 03 APR 2001 Western Sydney Area Health Service The Brain Resource Company (BRC) will be listed on the Australian stock exchange on Tuesday, 28 August. Western Sydney Area Health Service and The Westmead Millennium Foundation is proud to support this international consortium that includes Professor Arvid Carlsson - winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine 2000, and former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating. Professor Carlsson is the scientific advisor on the BRC Board, while Mr Keating is a non-executive director of the Board. BRC is commercialising new ways to analyse the brain through a centralised data-base that will provide a network of services to clinicians worldwide. The integrative process, along with many of the new methods of assessing brain functioning, were developed at Westmead Hospital which is testimony to the ability of the Westmead campus to pioneer clinically useful research at the highest level. BRC will be used to assess the effectiveness of new treatments and also in the assessment of a range of medical conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder and Alzheimer's Disease.
